Background[]

Steve, who is hiding out at the Bundy Residence after learning that his ex-wife Marcy has since remarried, panics after hearing a knock on the door and the agent announcing himself. Steve then reveals to the Bundys that he is a wanted fugitive as he had stolen a rare bird's egg while working as a park ranger. He also tells the family to not tell the agent that he is there, as harboring a known fugitive is a crime before heading into the basement.

Al opens the door and talks to Mahoney, who shows him a picture of Steve and the egg. Instead of simply denying that he had seen Steve and the egg, Al give a passionate speech about how he served his country by playing high school football and scoring Four Touchdowns in a single game, yet is not exempt from taxes. He then suggest that the agent can go elsewhere and talk to someone who pays their taxes because the Bundys hate cops, before finally shutting the door on him.

Although Al showed his loyalty to Steve and hoped that his family would do the same, the other Bundys decide to try turn their former neighbor in, upon learning that there is a $50,000 reward. Despite Al leading them a "Whoa United Bundy Front Against Authority!", the family then attempt to poison Al in order to make it easier for them to turn Steve in.

Sometime later, after accepting that Marcy has moved on, Steve talk about friendship just before Mahoney and several other agents arrive to arrest him and take the egg back. As they escort him out and Peg complains that they won't be getting the reward money, Kelly decides to tell the agents that they had hid him all this time and ask if they deserve something, beliving it was a smart idea. Mahoney points out that they do in fact deserve something and proceeds to arrest them for harboring a criminal, while mockingly telling his agents to be careful with "the big guy" since he played high school football for his country. Al then tries to kick Kelly as Mahoney was cuffing her, but is dragged off before he could connect.

As Peg is the last person to be lead out, she turns and asks Mahoney who called the agency, as none of the Bundys were able to. The scene quickly transitions to Buck, wearing a fedora and standing in front of a nighttime scene, as Mahoney's voice explains that it was "Buck Bundy Environmentally Correct Briard" and suggest to viewers that if they witness a crime against mother nature, that they should not hesitate to tell their dog about it.
