Arnold, referred to by Al as 'John Henry over there', is Nancy's mischievous son. While at the shoe store, he knocks shoes off a rack and hammers away on the floor with hundred dollar pumps because he is bored. When his mother decides the "courteous service" of the advertisement is lacking, and that they will take their shopping elsewhere, Arnold declares that he wants a balloon. This offers Al the opportunity, observing the bent-over form of his ex-customer, to comment that he "already got one", insulting his mom.
