Bum is a minor character who briefly appears in the Season 1 episode, "The Poker Game".
He is played by actor William Utay.
Background[]
Steve Rhoades decides to stop by Gary's Shoes & Accessories for Today's Woman and talk to Al Bundy in regards to the money he lost during a poker with Al and his friends a few nights earlier. After suggesting to Steve that he should man up and just tell his wife, Marcy the truth and act like it was no big deal, a homeless man enters and asks if they could spare some change, as he would like to have a decent meal.
Al stands up and pulls out some spare change from his pocket to give to the bum. As the grateful man appreciates the help, Steve decide outdo Al and give the bum a $5 bill that Al gave him a few moments earlier to help recoup his loses. The bum, now even more grateful, thanks both of them and quickly exits.
Al comments that Steve is a decent guy, though not exactly the smartest for giving away the $5. Steve defends himself, acknowledging that the $5 would not have done much to help him recoup his losses, but it would definitely help the bum. Just then, the bum is seen walking arm-in-arm with an attractive blond woman.
