Bundy Residence

The Bundy Residence is the main location of Married... with Children and the home of the Bundy family.

The address of the house is given as 9764 Jeopardy Lane or 9674 Jeopardy Lane in Season 4, and 9764 Jeopardy Lane in Season 11[1], and it is located in Chicago, Illinois[2][3]. It seems to be situated close to an expressway on a hill not far from Bills Hilltop Drive In[4][5]. Next to it on the right is the Rhoades/D'Arcy Residence, 9766 Jeopardy Lane[6].

The actual house, which was only used for outside shots, is located at 641 Castlewood Lane in Deerfield, Illinois[7]. In season 1, the house is shown to be a medium-to-dark brown color, but starting in season 2 the exterior shots show that the house was painted to a light beige color, with white trim and shutters.

The property the Bundy Residence lies on, is known to have been used by Native Americans as a landfill, where rotting moccasins were thrown for disposal. This also causes the property line that abuts Marcy’s house to be irregular as seen in the episode How Green Was My Apple [8].

The exact floor plans of the residence are not known but several fans have made plans themselves. While the layout of the ground floor is easy to make out from what can be seen on the show, the upper floor is never fully shown so its floor plan is up for speculation. The first alternative for the upper floor shown below[9] makes more sense, though, from what can be seen on the show, as it includes the corridor.

However, the show does make the continuity mistake that whenever something falls out of a window upstairs. No matter what room it fell from it always lands on the patio in the backyard, even if the window would be on an entirely different side of the house.

The Bundy Basement is known for it's broken third stair step, and broken lightbulb which makes seeing the broken step difficult. When anyone goes offstage thru the basement door the sounds of screaming and crashing quickly follow. The basement didn't become a recurring regular location until Bud moved down there, allowing Peggys' mother to take over his old room.
