Burger Trek is a restaurant that Al Bundy (and later Peggy Bundy) worked at in order to earn extra income.
It is seen in season 3's "A Three Job, No Income Family".
Description[]
During the episode, the kitchen is mostly shown, though part of the dining area and register (refereed to as "The Bridge") can be briefly seen. The dining area is covered with neon signs.
The kitchen has various stations for toppings and condiments, along with a flat top stove, two deep fryers and a walk in fridge.
A unique aspect is that it also features six chutes from which the burgers are sent out and slide onto a waiting tray. The employees are supposed to say "Whoosh" whenever a burger is sent out, though Al and Peg have to be constantly reminded to make the noise by their manager, The Captain.
As indicated by the various employees there, they use fake ingredients (such as "Ketchup Substitute", "Cheese Substitute" and "Meat Substitute") for condiments. The burger meat is from kangaroo, which the captain wants to keep secret from the customers. They also don't follow any health codes, as Al touches all the food without gloves and the utensils for mixing the "Ketchup Substitute" and scooping up lettuce is just thrown on the floor.
The burger consist of: bun, kangaroo meat, tomato, onion, ketchup, pickle "and a squirt of beef squeezins", which the captain refers to as their special sauce. He tells Al that the beef squeezins has to go on last as it tends to wash away the color of the tomatoes.
The name, the phrase used by the captain ("Beam me up a burger, Bundy, warp speed") and its slogan ("To go where no burger has gone before") are references to the 1960s sci-fi show Star Trek.
