Dexter is a character who appeared in the Season 8 episode of Married... with Children titled "Nooner or Later".

The part of Dexter is played by actor Chi McBride, who would later become well known for his role as Principal Steven Harper on another hit FOX TV series, Boston Public.

Description[]

Dexter was a temp employee sent by a temp agency to help Al Bundy at Gary's Shoes & Accessories for Today's Woman. He was brought in due to Al's regular co-worker, Aaron Mitchell being absent for unknown reasons.

Upon arriving at the store, his lunchbox is suddenly stolen by a fat mother and daughter duo, who had traded barbs with Al moments earlier. He then greets Al, who was surprised, as he was expecting someone with a 44 inch chest and D-Cups. After confirming that he in fact has both of those, Dexter reveals that he also has no experience selling shoes, though Al seems to acknowledge that he's never really sold shoe either. He also apologizes for being late while pointing out that it was due to the long line for Burned Beyond Recognition concert tickets that were being sold at the New Market Mall.

Later that morning, as Al and Dexter attempt the shoe fitting of a fat woman, Peggy Bundy calls him at work and tries to get him to sing "Wind Beneath My Wings". She made the requests in order to a win a $200 gift certificate to Victoria's Secret from a radio call-in show called "Berate Your Mate", hosted by Rick Dees. Moments later, Dexter was injured when the fat woman suddenly fell on him and forced Al to hang up on her. As Al tries to help get the woman off of him, Dexter begins to fade out of consciousness, believing that he is about to die and asks Al to tell his wife, Laura that he loves her.

A few moments later, Dexter is laid out on the floor as paramedics use an oxygen tank, chest compressions and heart defibrillator to revive him. At the same time, Peggy calls again, now with a different tasks assigned to her by Rick Dees. She has to get Al to say the pet name that he has for her breasts over the phone in order to win a fancy dinner for two at Umberto's. Al becomes annoyed with her requests, as he trying to work and make sure Dexter is still alive, before finally hanging up on her.

Sometime later, Dexter was revived and continued to work that day without a trip to the hospital. He watches Al get punched in the face after insulting a bespectacled woman. After the phone rings again, Dexter picks it up and hands it to Al, revealing that is Peggy again, who is trying to get Al to come home for a "nooner" in order to win a trip to Tahiti and $10,000 in spending money. Believing that a "nooner" meant having a meal, a giddy Al tells Dexter to watch the store and if he can't work the register, to just pocket the money. Al then asks his co-worker if wants him to bring him back some of his "nooner". Dexter stops Al and explains to him that a "nooner" wasn't a meal, but in fact was a term meaning to having sex in the middle of the day, which in this case, meant Al agreed to have sex with his wife.

After Al decides not go home for the "nooner", he ends up helping Bud Bundy and Kelly Bundy, who had been standing in line for the Burned Beyond Recognition concert tickets, by holding their spot while they try to get some food. Al's friend and neighbor, Jefferson D'Arcy stops by and asks why didn't Al already go home for the "nooner". He then explains to him that all of Peg's attempts were part of a radio contest and if he makes home in time, they'll win a trip and prize money. Although Al is hesitant, knowing that sex with Peg is the only way to win, Dexter joins in on the conversation and tells him that it could be worse. He then showed Al and Jefferson a picture of "the mountain" that he has to climb twelve times a year.

After Al is motivated to do the deed, Dexter is left behind to man the store. Due to Al leaving the line, the kids lose their spot and try to sneak back in. They are then confronted by a muscular man named Pete, who insults Kelly and then throws Bud across the shoe store, causing Dexter to grimace at the sight.

It is unclear what happened to Dexter after this episode, as Aaron returned a few episodes later in "The Legend of Ironhead Haynes".
