Fanny is one of Peggy Bundy's friends who appeared in several episodes during Season 2 and Season 3. She is also the wife of Al Bundy's friend, Barney.
She is played by actress LaRue Stanley.
History[]
Fanny is first introduced in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Part 1)", when Peg and her friends decide to hang out at the Bundy Residence. She is shown apologizing to Marcy Rhoades in regards to her finger, indicating that she may have bitten Marcy while trying to eat. Fanny and the rest of the girls try to comfort Marcy after learning that her husband, Steve was ogling a young repairwoman named Wanda, as he and Al Bundy watched try to fix the Bundys' refrigerator. Fanny then laments that because of men, she refuses to shorts anymore, which causes Al make a joke about her. A few moments later, Steve, carrying a bouquet, tries to apologize to Marcy, but is given the silent treatment by and the others. Though Fanny starts to have a panic attack and claim that Steve is trying to undress her with his eyes.
In order to get Marcy's mind clear and have some fun, Peg and the other girls then choose to go to Troy's, a male strip club that knows Peggy particularly well. Although Marcy is obviously feeling awkward at the club, Fanny and the others pull out their money and start cheering and paying for the performers. Sometime later, as Zorro begins to dance he makes his way to the girls' table and grabs Fanny, before rubbing her face against his bare chest. Marcy soon becomes infatuated with Zorro and steals the dollars out of Fanny and the other girls' hands to get his attention. As he grabs Marcy and dances wit her across the stage, Fanny and the others proceed to cheer her on.
In the second part, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Part 2)", Fanny and the others are briefly seen during the beginning as they cheer Peg on while she rides on a cowboy stripper.
In "Earth Angel", similar to her previous appearance, she along with several of Peg's are invited over for dinner and proceeds to pig out on the food. Not wanting to be around the women, Al tells them that he is going bowl, but before he leaves, he blows on a dog whistle, which only Fanny hears, causing Al to smirk. Marcy then stops by and tells the girls that she and Steve are going out to a bar to do some "role playing". The girls don't seem to understand why Marcy would do this with her own husband, but she tells them that it allows them to have sex every 36 hours and then use the weekend to catch up. Intrigued by this, Fanny and the others go crazy and try to make themselves look trashy before running to the bowling alley to get their husbands.
Later, Fanny's husband, Barney who also happens to be Al's friend, decided to pay Al in order watch a young and attractive woman named Tiffany do aerobics in the backyard.
In "Here's Lookin' at You, Kid", she along with Marcy and several other women arrive at the Bundy residence to inform Peggy about a peeping tom in the neighborhood. Peggy is taken aback when even Fanny has been peeped on, leaving just her and Mrs McGinty until she arrives and tells the ladies she was peeped.
