Appearance on Married... with Children[]
In Al Bundy's Sports Spectacular, Long is interviewed by fellow sports commentator, Roy Firestone after he received word that Al Bundy was in an intensive care unit. He explains to Firestone that he and Al were at a Chicago area sports bar and Al had been partaking in karaoke and singing a song by The Village People, while also mocking Long's trademark flat top hair cut. Al then "tripped" and took a header off the stage, and Long was able to break Al's fall with his fist.
In A Bundy Thanksgiving, he, along with fellow sports commentators James Brown, Ronnie Lott, and Terry Bradshaw, are at the FOX Sports studio and watch the replay of Al Bundy trying to escape Aunt Maddie's funeral with her beloved sweet potato pie. Brown, who was also Maddie's nephew, was in attendance and tried to block Al, but the rest of the commentators mock him for not being able to stop a middle aged shoe salesman. Long then comments that Al wanted it a little more than Brown, who becomes upset and calls Long "Four Eyes". As both men stand up, Bradshaw tries to jump in and intervene, before both Long and Brown tell him "Stay out of it, baldy!".
