Linda Day, also known as Linda Day-Varnum born Linda Gail Brickner, (August 12, 1938 – October 23, 2009)[1] was an American director and the person who made the "Pilot" along with thirty-two other episodes of the show, the last being "You Better Shop Around, Part II".

Working for the most part in situation comedies, she directed for over fifty different TV series, including more than twenty episodes each of Kate & Allie, Baby Talk and Unhappily Ever After, as well as a dozen each for Clueless (TV Series), Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Archie Bunker's Place.


Personal life and death

She died in 2009, aged 71, from cancer in Georgetown, Texas. She was survived by her husband, L. Steve Varnum; her daughter, Heidi Gutman and her sister, Nancy Riley.
