Moon River is a 1961 song written and composed by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer and originally performed by Audrey Hepburn. Onscreen it is primarily associated with the Audrey Hepburn film Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Appearances on MWC[]

It is first heard in the season 3 episode, "Eatin' Out". The opening line of the song is sung by Al and Peg at different times, while the 2nd verse is sung by Peg while she dances with Al.

It can also be briefly heard at the end of the season 7 episode, "What I Did for Love", when Al chases Peg around their bedroom, pleading for sex in exchange for food. He then starts singing the opening line to her.

Lyrics[]

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style someday
Oh, dream maker
You heartbreaker
Where ever you're going
I'm going your way

Two drifters off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon river and me
