Oliver Muirhead (born May 29, 1957) is an English character actor known for often portraying pompous country gentlemen and various less than honest Englishmen on North American TV. In 1986, he also directed the musical pantomime A Christmas Held Captive. In addition to acting, Muirhead has also lent his voice to various animated series such as P.J. Sparkles and Spider-Man and the video games Zork: Grand Inquisitor, Dead to Rights, The Hobbit and Eragon. Oliver plays the part of Mr. Blithers, a British DMV license examiner in the Season 9 episode of Married... with Children titled "Driving Mr. Boondy" in Season 9.
He is perhaps most recognizable in the USA for his appearances in 1990s commercials for Tombstone Pizza. In 2016, he reprised his role in a collaboration between Tombstone and Funny or Die. In the promo, which recreates a 1994 Tombstone ad featuring his character trapped in a jungle, his character is pulled out of the trap and shares a Tombstone Roadhouse pizza with the villain.[1]
In 1991, he starred in the soap opera Santa Barbara as Mr. Marx: he hired Gina at the Santa Barbara Sperm Bank.
