Patrick J. Dancy (born July 18, 1970) is an American business entrepreneur and former actor. He is probably best known for being part of the early 1990s boy band, Guys Next Door and starring in the show of the same name.
On Married... with Children, he appeared in the Season 4 episode, "Peggy Made a Little Lamb", as Ruben, one of Kelly Bundy's classmates.
Acting Career[]
From 1990 to 1991, Dancy starred in the NBC Saturday morning series, Guys Next Door. The show essentially turned Dancy and his co-stars into an overnight boy band, also called "Guys Next Door", to compete with the more popular boy band, New Kids on the Block. The show featured sketch comedy and musical performances by the group. The premise was similar to the 1970s show The Monkees, in which a fictionalized band called The Monkees was created and given their own show after being inspired by the British band, The Beatles.
Guys Next Door lasted for only one season with 13 episodes aired. Although the group released several singles and had a hit with "I've Been Waiting For You", the group disbanded shortly after the show's cancellation.
During this time, he also guest starred on the NBC Saturday morning teen sitcom, Saved By The Bell, in an episode titled "Date Auction". The episode also featured MWC guess stars Judy Carmen and Casper Van Dien.
From 1992 to 1993 he had a recurring role as the popular jock, Ted Curran, on the ABC sitcom, Family Matters.
From 1999 to 2004, he appeared in several television shows and movies including Living Single, The Pretender, Martial Law, NYPD Blue, and S1m0ne.
Business Ventures[]
While working as an actor, a friend of his convinced him to try his hand in business. He also credits his experience as an actor with helping him in the business world.
He serves as the Executive VP of National Sales & Services at Simplefy.
He founded the footwear brand, LGND.
