Married with Children Wiki

The Donnellys are a family that live in the same Chicago neighborhood as The Bundys.

They are mentioned three times during Season 4 as well as in Season 7.

It can be assumed that at the very least it consist of a husband and wife and live across the street from the Bundys. Although the husband is heard briefly in three episodes, the characters are not seen on camera. Al also implies twice that Mrs. Donnelly is having an affair with at least one local mail carrier.

Al also mentioned that the Donnellys have a son who is possibly a crossdresser.

Background[]

In "Tooth or Consequences", as Al comes home, Mr. Donnelly and another neighbor are heard mocking Al for not having food. He brags about having steak for dinner and mockingly asks what he'll be eating. Al responds by telling him "If I was the mailman, I'd be having your wife! Don't worry about me, Donnelly, I'll have supper."

In "976-SHOE", Bud informs Al that Mrs. Donnelly called the Bundy Residence, as she needed advice about dealing with bunions on her feet, so she can wear the slippers she bought from him. Al then suggests that she should "...start walking on all fours like God intended her to". This eventually leads to Al getting an idea about creating a shoe hotline.

In "It's a Bundyful Life (Part 2)", as Al tries to fix the Christmas lights, Mr. Donnelly calls out to Al from across the street. He brags that his family got him a new television set, and then asks Al what he got in a mocking tone. Al responds, "Well, if I was one of the guys down at the post office, Donnelly, I'd be unwrapping your wife!".

In "'Til Death Do Us Part", as the neighborhood hears about Al's bedroom problems, Mr. Donnelly mocks Al as he arrives at the Bundy's front door. In a smug tone, he tells Al to have sex with Peg 50 times as the Donnellys are cooking an egg for dinner. Al replies back by suggesting that Mr. Donnelly can instead watch his son slip out out of his dress to measure out the time.
