Quotes[]

  • [Al and Peggy enter the Bundy residence and carry two serving plate full of deli meats and cheese to the kitchen]
  • Peg: Steve and Marcy throw a nice party, don't they?
  • Al: Well, it would have been nicer if we were actually invited. [puts the trays down on the kitchen table] You know, Peg, I didn't like those people very much. Bunch of boring bankers! They just kept staring at me!
  • Peg: Well, you did overflow the toilet and not tell anyone.
  • Al: Well, I don't tell anyone when I do it here.

  • Al: But you got to give me credit, I did try to liven things up!
  • Peggy: Well, you know, I don't think a bankers' party is the right place to stand on the buffet and yell "Hey! Let's wet down the wives' t-shirts and rate their hooters!".
  • Al: [smiling] You'd have won! [laughs]
  • Peggy: [smiling] Oh, Al! [they both laugh and kiss each other on the cheek]

  • [Bud and Kelly walk into the Bundy living room, carrying two gas canisters and a syphoning hose]
  • Bud: Well, Dad, we got the gas like you told us too. Don't worry, I don't think anyone at the party saw us. They were too busy watching Buck mount Mrs. Vandergelder's fur coat. [Bud and Kelly smile and laugh]
  • Kelly: Can you believe all this [points to the gas cans] came from one Rolls Royce?!
  • [Marcy emerges from behind the Bundy kitchen counter with an upset look on her face. The kids become nervous and quickly change their tone, as Kelly puts on a fake smile]
  • Kelly: Oh, hi Mrs. Rhoades! [feigns concern] Guess what?! One of your guests' cars sprung a leak and, uhm, [puts her arm around Bud as he leans in and puts on a fake smile] young Bud and I thought it was a fire hazard. So, luckily, we happened along with these gas cans and once again, saved the day.
  • Bud: Damn vandals! I think they keyed the cars too! [Kelly nods her head in agreement]

  • [Buck quickly runs into the Bundy living room and up the stairs with a fur coat in his mouth]
  • Kelly: Mom, why can Buck have the coat upstairs, and I can't have boys in my room?!
  • Peg: Because that coat can't get pregnant! [Kelly lowers her head in disappointment]
  • Bud: Obviously, neither can Kelly! [Kelly slaps Bud on the arm]

  • Madame Olga: I feel very strong vibrations here.
  • Al: [to Peggy] Did you leave your toy running under the couch again?

  • [The plane is experiencing heavy turbulence, but only the Bundys and Mr. Vandergelder are not as concerned]
  • Vandergelder: Miss Rhoades, the speech is still unacceptable. Do it over before we land. [hands the document folder over]
  • Marcy: [to Steve, in disbelief] Can you believe this guy?! [Steve is unresponsive]
  • Vandergelder: [offscreen] Miss Rhoades! Get me a pillow!
  • Marcy: [to Steve, in disbelief] I'm going to die in a blazing furnace and he wants a pillow?!
  • [Marcy then slowly turns around to face Mr. Vandergelder and flings the document folder at him]
  • Marcy: You fat pig! [gets up from her seat, pulls out Vandergelder's earphones and begins yelling in his face] I work my fingers to the bone for you. I'm a bank manager, damn it, not your handmaiden. But do you appreciate me? No. It's always, "Get my coffee.", "Write my speech.", "Here comes my wife, pretend Fluffy's with you." [he quickly turns to Fluffy to deny what Marcy just said] Well, I'm sick of it. And I'm sick of you, "Vanderdoody". I've done a lot of low things for you, but when I meet my maker in a few minutes and he asks if I've done anything good, I'll say, "Yes. I did this." [throws a right hook punch, knocking Vandergelder out cold]

Trivia[]

  • Bud and Kelly are seen coming with gas cans and mentioned that they siphoned gas from a Rolls Royce at the Rhoades' residence as Al told them to do. In Season 2's "Master the Possibilities", Al made Bud siphon gas from Steve's Mercedez-Benz.
  • After Bud declares that he will work solo instead of under Al's directions, Kelly quips "Much like at Lover's Lane?". In the Season 2 episode, "The Great Escape", she had mentioned that she knew Bud was "The Masked Lover's Lane Peeper" and that the football team had a bounty on the peeper.
  • Sandra Wild, who plays Fluffy, previously appeared in several Playboy specials.
  • Steve Bean, who plays Fred, the man who returns Al's wallet to Peg, would later appear on MWC as Steve, the Playgirl photographer in the Season 7 episode, "Mr. Empty Pants".
  • The Bundys encounter gypsies again in the episode Psychic Avengers and will be the subjected to a curse involving monkeys.

Music[]

  • Al sings "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra. Marcy also references part of the song after being told that she'll be going to New York.
  • The song Al and Peg sing during the trip is "Hey Paula" by Paul and Paula.
  • The song Al and Peg sing at the end of the episode is "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher.

Goofs[]

  • When Kelly lies about syphoning gas from the Vandergelder's Rolls Royce, she has her arm around Bud as he leans in close to her. Then, immediately, as Buck runs in with the fur coat and both of Kelly's arms are down at her side, holding onto the syphoning hose.
  • Just as Peg goes to open the door for Fred, the man bringing Al's wallet back, the shadow of a boom mic can be seen on the wall near the front door.
  • When Marcy notices a black cat run across the coffee table, the shadow of a crew member can be seen passing by in the lower left corner of the screen just before the black cat runs across the table.
