The Wedding Repercussions was the 25th episode of Season 7 of Married... with Children, also the 156th overall episode of the series. Directed by Gerry Cohen and writen by Arthur Silver, the episode originally on FOX, premiering on May 16, 1993.
Synopsis[]
Following the events from "The Wedding Show," Bud's cousin returns to find out who slept with his wife before the wedding. Al gives Bud some advice and Kelly threatens to tell Bud's cousin the truth.
Storyline[]
"Wedding Repercussions" is the hairy and scary aftermath to this season's "The Wedding Show", when a woman for the first time beyond all doubt was Bundified by Bud. The bride in question went ahead with her marriage to Cousin Jimmy, but divorced him immediately, and informed him of her "pre-wedding jitters" while at the Bundys'. This brings all 6' 7" and 300 pounds of Cousin Jimmy (played by Abraham Benrubi) to the family's door, planning to go on the rampage until he locates the man responsible and, in his own words, "rip off his arms, shove one of them down his throat, and have him tear out his own heart."
Bud, of course, is delighted to discover Janey didn't tell Jimmy his name, but less pleased to learn she said the sex wasn't worth talking about. Jimmy wants Bud to do research and identify the culprit, so he (Jimmy) can do everything he's been dreaming about. Kelly, rather naturally, sees an opportunity for blackmail in Jimmy's ignorance, and makes Bud brush her hair, and other slave duties, although Bud does manage to twist the tasks. The subsequent father-son heart-to-heart can be summarized in Al's phrase, "Lie, sell shoes, lie." Applying understandable logic, Jimmy's first candidate for a black eye, literally, is Jefferson, the best-looking man around and a womanizer. Marcy suspects that Jefferson earned his beating, placing him in further, more extreme danger. Marcy turns to Peg for comfort, a truly rookie mistake, as Peg not only doesn't help her, but becomes obsessed with Al and drags him off upstairs, while Bud confesses to Marcy that it was him, not Jefferson.
Bud eventually decides he must take his beating like a man, and screws up his courage to tell Jimmy. His bravery is not needed in the end though, as Jimmy has already discovered another "one true love", Diana, or "Dee Anna" as she points out, who is to stay with his trusted "best man", i.e. Bud, while Jimmy pops out to get the engagement ring.
The instant the door closes behind the big guy Diana is stalking Bud, turned on, according to her, by his indifference. A true Bundy, Bud is able to rationalize taking advantage of what she offers since she's "not good enough for my cousin Jimmy, but you're just perfect for me."

Quotes[]
- Kelly: Well, I guess you deserve to know, Tiny Dancer. Cousin Jimmy is on his way over to have a little chat with you.
- Bud: [panicking] W-w-w-what do you think he wants?
- Kelly: [mockingly] Your b-b-b-butt in a sling. [smiles]
- [After Jimmy asked Bud to talk with him outside, Bud tells him he'll be there shortly. He then runs around the couch and hops onto Al's lap]
- Bud: Aw, Dad, I don't want him pull my arms off and rip out my heart! All I did was sleep with his wife. What does he want from me?
- Al: [pats Bud on the shoulder] Now, Bud, just relax. I know how to handle this. I met a lot of big stupid bullies when I was growing up.
- Peg: Uh-uh, Al. When you were growing up, you were the big stupid bully.
- Al: [chuckling] Yeah, I was. I was good at it, too. But I wasn't just big and stupid. I was also mean. I used to scare people like... your mother scares me.
- Bud: Dad, cousin Jimmy's going crazy. He says if I don't find out who it is he's just gonna go up and down the block and beat everyone up. I put the whole block in danger. Am I doing the wrong thing by lying?
- Al: Don't ever say that, son! The Bundy proud name was built on a philosophy of lying. Well, lying and owing money. And perhaps beer. Yes, lying, owing money and beer. Only thing that separates us from the Kennedys is they have the money.
- Marcy: Peggy, what would you do if Al cheated on you?
- Peg: Oh, that would never happen. He's like a big old faithful hound dog. [chuckles] Nobody wants him and he's not good for anything, but I've had him since he was a puppy and he has his cute little ways.
- [As Peg looks over to the living room, Al is shown sitting on the couch with a big heart overlay around his face. He sticks his index finger into his left ear and pulls out ear wax. He examines it and uses his other hand to pick it up and then sticks it into his right ear with a look of satisfaction.]
- Peg: Excuse me, Marcy. I have to go.
- [Peg runs over to Al and plants several small quick kisses on his cheek.]
- Al: [quickly reels away, disgusted] Hey, now, what do you want?
- Peg: You, you true blue little Pooh Bear. Take me. Take me in the rubble that is our bed.
- Al: Well, I didn't do noth-... [Peg pulls Al by the ear and leads him upstairs as he starts squealing like a pig] Eeee!!!... Eeeee!!!
Notes[]
Title[]
- The title of the episode is likely a reference to Bud facing the repercussions of sleeping with Cousin Jimmy's bride on their wedding day.
Trivia[]
- After Bud reveals that he was peeping through a window at a frat house and the rest of Bundys look at him in disgust, he tells "Oh sure, like I'm the only peeping tom in this family". Bud was previously revealed to be the "The Masked Lover's Lane Peeper" by Kelly in the season 2 episode, "The Great Escape".
- Bud is also shown drilling a hole so he can spy on Yvette in season 4's "Fair Exchange."
- In this season's "The Old College Try," Al corrects Bud when he drills a peep hole too low. This is because Bud was stuck into a women's dorm at Trumaine because there was no room in the Men's dorms.
- Abraham Benrubi, who plays Cousin Jimmy in this episode, previously appeared on MWC in "She's Having My Baby (Part 1)" in an uncredited role as the baby in Al's fantasy.
- At the time he made his guest appearances in the two episodes, Benrubi was also starring in another FOX television series, Parker Lewis Can't Lose as Francis Lawrence "Larry" Kubiac III.
- Barbara Ann Moore, who plays Diana was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for December 1992.
- Al reveals to Bud the Bundy Credo.
- In one scene, Peggy notices Al and drags him by his ear up the stairs for sex and he begins to squeal. A very similar scene happened earlier in "Heels on Wheels" after she got off of Kelly's motorcycle.
Cultural References[]
- Jimmy reveals that he ate 100 Whopper Sandwiches from fast food restaurant, Burger King.
- When Al explains to Bud that the Bundy name is built on a philosophy of lying, owing money and beer, he then says that "The only that separates us from the Kennedys is, they have the money". This in in reference to the wealthy, politically connected Kennedy family. They were previously mentioned in "It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This".
- When Marcy seeks some comforting words from Peggy after thinking Jefferson was cheating on her, she says that she wants to hear Peggy say that she is "pretty and sassy and spunky and, yes, sexy in that late 70's New York androgynous band way".
- Marcy's line is a reference to the music scene of New York during the 1970s, where many bands were dressing up androgynously, blurring the line between men and women's fashion, such as the New York Dolls and British musician David Bowie's alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

- Bundy Living Room / Kitchen
- Bundy Veranda
Goofs[]
- When Bud looks at his shoulder for advice about Diana and the miniature Al tells him "Blah, blah, blah", part of Al's left leg and foot is missing.
- Shortly after, when Bud moves in and kisses Diana, the miniature Al appears again and as he says "Stiii-rike", part of the couch is visible through the bottom of his shoe as he kicks his left leg up.
- Both errors were likely due to editing the "green screen" effect used to shrink Al and Cousin Jimmy.
