Wanker County is the name of a fictional county located in the state of Wisconsin, and is notable for being the place where Peggy Bundy and many other Wanker Family members originate.
In early episodes, it is implied that Wanker County is likely in or near Milwaukee County. In "For Whom the Bell Tolls", Peggy mentions that she wants to go Milwaukee for her niece's wedding, while Al notes that Peg's mom was the current beer drinking champion at Milwaukee Fest. In "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "976-SHOE", the phone bill that Al receives listed several incoming calls from Milwaukee, before pointing out that they're all from Peg's mom. Al also said that the city of Milwaukee was built around Peg's mom.
Wanker County itself seems to be populated only by the Wanker family, and has mottos, one of which Al sarcastically said was "Nothing says lovin' like marryin' your cousin"[1] and "Marry fat, marry family." Albert Einstein has apparently remarked that in Wanker Country "Everyone is relative". The inhabitants are implied to be severely inbred.
The county has its own Olympic game, which Al and Peg attended in "Sofa So Good". Al was invited in particular because he is the only non-blood relative (further implying the possibility of inbreeding).
History[]
Wanker County was purchased from the Indians, whose name for Wanker county was "Obi luba possa wadamy" which means "Land of the big, gassy Possum". [2]
Peggy noted that Al had been selected as the grand marshal for the county's bicentennial parade, which took place in 1995 and had the theme "Thumbs: Show 'em If You Got 'em".[2]
