Yakety Sax is a 1963 instrumental piece by Boots Randolph, who plays the saxophone on the song.
It is commonly associated with British television comedy show, The Benny Hill Show, in which the song is played during the closing scene, typically featuring sped up footage of a comedic, silent chase involving scantily clad women. Its association with the show has led to it being referred to as "The Benny Hill Theme". It was also featured in several other shows and films, typically in outlandishly humorous situations that parody the Benny Hill Show version.
Appearance on MWC[]
The song is heard during a montage in the season 7 episode, "It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This" when Peggy and Marcy join Al on his vacation. After Marcy and Peggy get into an argument and drag Al into it, the song begins to play over sped up footage of the women yelling and chasing Al around the cabin starting from day 2 of his weeklong vacation. By day 5, Al's head, looking rather depressed, is shown over a black screen followed by multiple heads of Marcy and Peggy floating around and screaming at each other as day 6 and 7 pass by. The song fades out as the caption "Al misses the shoe store" is shown.
