Zoe Trilling (born Geralyn Mae Betzler, May 27, 1966 - September 8, 2023) was an American actress and dancer.
On Married... with Children, she played Susan, a classmate of Kelly's, in the Season 4 episode, "Peggy Made a Little Lamb".
Early Life[]
At the age 18 she moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in acting and dance. During this time, while taking acting and ballet classes, she supported herself by working at a bakery and as an aerobics instructor at various gyms including the Jane Fonda Aerobics Studio.
Acting Career[]
Her acting career began in 1985, land guest roles on televisions shows such as Guiding Light, Hunter, 21 Jump Street and MacGyver.
She also appeared in a string of horror movies and thrillers in the late 80s and early 90s, such as Fear (1988), Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes, To Serve and Protect, Night Terrors (featuring MWC guest star Robert Englund), Hellbound, and Leprechaun 3.
She may be best known for her role in the 1994 horror movie Night of the Demons 2 as bad girl Shirley Finnerty.
According to IMDb, her last acting role was in 1997, appearing in the short film, My Pretty Little Girlfriend.
Post Acting[]
In 1999, she returned to her dance roots and was working as a dance teacher at The American Ballroom Theater in New York. She also worked as a yoga instructor and personal fitness instructor in both New York and Los Angeles.
While not much information about her life after 1999 is online, under the name "Zoe Trilling", a LinkedIn profile indicated that she worked in human resources for the Los Angeles-based mortgage company, Watermark Financial Inc. at some point[1] and had also filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles that was eventually dismissed in 2007.[2]
In 2021, a comment left on a 2015 article written about the actress indicated that she was living on the streets of Chula Vista in San Diego County, California, though no other proof was given. [3]
Death[]
Trilling died on September 8, 2023 in San Diego County, California (with some reports saying in the city of El Cajon and others saying Vista, which is about 50 minutes north),at the age of 57. A cause of death has not been stated.
Her death was confirmed in separate Facebook posts by Brian Trenchard-Smith (director of Night of the Demons 2 and Leprechaun 3) and Kevin S. Tenney (director of the original Night of the Demons, who used her for post-production voice work in Pinocchio's Revenge), with both directors praising her talent and professionalism.[4]
A funeral was held for her in El Cajon.[5] She is buried at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
